I'll go ahead and light a fire here........Unfortunately, these types of people are why kayaks should require registration as well as every other vessel. Bash away....

I don't think registration and will help here. It is more common sense. Average size boats capsize as well and they are registered. A safety course might help if all the cons of your actions are explained. You should not go alone to the ocean period. If you want to go out stay inshore. Just my .02.

He is very lucky and I am glad it did not went the other way.

I could not disagree more. Registration would be a big help in this case. First, this guy was rescued using monies that are generated by the cost of registering a vessel among other things. Basically, registering the yak helps pay those guys who wasted their time to go get the moron. Second, if he became shark food and was never found, at least his registered yak would help ID where he went down.

I think Bobby should give us all free gulp shrimp and some power lock hooks for the rest of our life then we'll agree with him.
